Thanksgiving is often clouded with the extravagant meals being prepared in the kitchen, football teams playing their hearts out on tv, and family. For a holiday that has the word “thanks” in the name, how often are you sitting back and meditating on all the things that you are thankful for? Personally, I don’t do this enough. From a business standpoint, there are more things that we are thankful for then can be counted in one day. However, in the spirit of Thanksgiving, here are the things we are most thankful for!
1. Our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ
This may seem like an award speech but really we are so thankful first off that Jesus loved us enough to come to Earth and to intervene for our sins. We owe everything to Him and rejoice in His splendor each day. He has blessed us with the talent of graphic design and web design… what a special gift it is!
2.Our Clients
It may sound expected, but truly our clients are amazing and are the rockstars behind our design business. Not only do they give us the opportunity to represent their business each day through design, they trust us to do so. Our clients range from small mom and pop shops to large corporations that have several nationwide locations, each being completely different and unique.
3. Opportunities to Design
Did we mention that we quite possibly have the coolest job ever? It’s the equivalent of a child getting to color all day with crayons and getting paid for it! Obviously, we love to design and are thankful that we were blessed with the ability to illustrate, strategically select colors and typography, and compile layouts.
4. Teachers
From early elementary art teachers to fellow designers, learning from you is one of the greatest gifts. For all of you that have sat down with us to teach us how to draw, bounced ideas off of, or given business advice, there is nothing that we can do that will match our sincere gratitude for your kindness. You make the world better and you give collaboration a good name!
5. Apple
Gone are the days of having to design by cutting and pasting, thank you Apple for the invention of the Mac and for turning a simple fruit into a worldwide brand. We love your products and will be faithful followers until the end!
6. Font Designers
We’ll make this easy, THANK YOU for giving us other options than Comic Sans and Arial. Your work adds spice to our work and helps bring works of art to life. Never has it been so easy to convey emotion than now!
7. Design Pioneers
All those late nights where you though nothing was working, or that the world just “didn’t get it.” We are following in your footsteps and look to your work for inspiration daily.
8. Adobe
You bring it all together and allow the ability to create amazing masterpieces that win awards, change businesses, and stick around for lifetimes. The Creative Suite gets better and better with each release, which allows us to use the computer in ways never thought of before. Way to change the industry!
